Standard Acceptance Test Procedure
Protocol-test
The Protocol-Test is a structured procedure to verify the proper installation, commissioning, and performance of the equipment before final acceptance.
1. Purpose
The Protocol-Test confirms that the equipment meets contractual requirements under real operating conditions.
2. Test Execution
- The Protocol-Test begins after installation and commissioning are completed and the equipment is ready for operation.
- The test is carried out by the Seller’s technicians, with support from the Buyer’s personnel.
- The equipment is operated in single-shift mode (8-hour shift) during the test.
3. Test Duration
- The Protocol-Test runs for four (4) consecutive days, one shift per day.
- The three best-performing days are used for final evaluation.
4. Monitoring Committee
A joint committee consisting of representatives from both the Seller and the Buyer supervises:
- the equipment’s condition and performance,
- test conditions,
- and material supply throughout the test period.
5.Recording of Downtime
All downtime during the Protocol-Test is measured by chronometer and classified into:
- 1. Total Test Time – 24 hours (three 8-hour shifts).
- 2. Equipment Downtime – stoppages caused by technical issues with the equipment supplied under the contract.
- 3. Buyer-Caused Stoppages – stoppages due to external factors beyond the Seller’s control, such as:
-
- malfunctions of the Buyer’s other machines,
- improper material feeding,
- interruptions caused by external utilities or suppliers.
6. Acceptance Criteria
The Protocol-Test is deemed successful if equipment downtime is less than 15% of the total test duration.
7. Signing of Protocol
Upon completion of the Protocol-Test, both parties sign an Acceptance Protocol, using the Seller’s standard form.
